  • Fish Ambassador volunteers will help new anglers

  • Learn about Pigeon Lake, conservation, aquatic invasive species, and traditional fishing practices

  • Warm up around a campfire and enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments

  • Become a PLWA member and be entered to win door prizes with donations from local businesses

  • Bring your warmest clothes, a camp chair, and your family and friends!

Kids Can Catch is on Alberta’s Family Fishing Weekend, so a fishing license is not required. Fishing regulations still apply.

The Pigeon Lake Skateway is located on the Southwest side of Pigeon Lake and is accessible from the Summer Villages of Poplar Bay and Grandview (https://www.pigeonlakeskateway.com). Look for the PLWA signs out on the ice pointing you to our event.

We are also looking for Fish Ambassador volunteers. Please email gm@plwa.ca if you are willing to share your knowledge or your auger with us.

If temperatures are below -15°C, we will reschedule. Please check this page for updates if temperatures are getting cold. Even if temperatures are warm, please dress properly for this outdoor winter event.
