2025 Summer Stewardship Team

PLWA is excited to welcome our 2025 summer staff! Our summer team will be working hard to run various programs including community science, clean runoff, caring for the lake together, and more!

Keep up with us on our website, and on social media, to see what our team is up to, and how you can get involved this summer!

Makena Hales, Engagement & Programs Coordinator

Hi! My name is Makena and I am excited to spend this summer as PLWA’s Engagement and Programs Coordinator! My family has a cabin on Itaska Beach so I am quite familiar with the area and have spent many of my summers out here. I am currently entering my fourth year of a B.Sc. in Physical Education with a Certificate in Sustainability at UofA Augustana. In my free time I love to spend time outdoors, camping, hiking and at the lake with my family and friends. Looking forward to spending time in the community and caring for the lake together!

Ella Majeau, Community Science Coordinator

I am Ella Majeau, and I am working as a Community Science Coordinator with PLWA. I am currently taking an Environmental Studies degree through The King’s University, and I am doing this summer job as a part of my environmental internship for my degree. I love being outside, whether that is through hiking, canoeing or camping, and have a passion for protecting these spaces that I have been able to enjoy. This has led me to this job where I can share awareness and participate in conservation and protection efforts for people and wildlife to enjoy.
