Call for Board Members
The Pigeon Lake Watershed Association is looking for passionate community members to join our Board of Directors!
The Pigeon Lake Watershed Association (PLWA) is a not-for profit charitable organization that is run by members of the Pigeon Lake community, with Pigeon Lake and its community as the foremost priority. The mission of the PLWA is to implement the various objectives and recommendations as outlined in the Pigeon Lake Watershed Management Plan (PLWMP) in order to promote a Healthy Lake, Healthy Watershed, Healthy Community.
A board with a diverse set of skills, knowledge, and lived experience is crucial in propelling the agenda of the PLWA forward. Directors are committed to a two-year term of office with the option to renew every two years at the organizational Annual General Meeting. Through attendance at Board meetings, Directors provide guidance and direction for the affairs of the PLWA. Because staff resources are so limited, some board members have chosen more operational roles, however this is optional.
The board meets bi-monthly on zoom, with an in-person Annual General Meeting during the summer, for a total of six meetings per year. Directors are expected to attend all meetings and participate in PLWA sanctioned events whenever possible.
If you or someone you know has an interest in becoming a PLWA Director and joining our board, please reach out to info@plwa.ca or fill out the form below to set up a meeting with our nominating committee.
