New Rain Garden in Mulhurst Bay

PLWA hosted a community planting event on June 3, 2023 to put the finishing touches on our newest Clean Runoff Demonstration Garden in Mulhurst Bay! The new garden is, by far, our largest demonstration site. With the help of our volunteers, we were able to plant almost 600 perennial plant plugs, and 52 shrubs and trees! All together, there are 56 different plant species throughout the garden.

We want to thank our amazing volunteers for all of their help with weeding, planting, watering, and moving stones! We also want to offer a special thank you to Leta van Duin, from the Alberta Low Impact Development Partnership (ALIDP) for all of her help in making this garden happen!

Next time you’re in Mulhurst, head over to the community park and check it out!
