2023 Summer Stewardship Team

PLWA is excited to welcome our 2023 summer staff! Our summer team will be working hard to run programs related to citizen science, clean runoff, caring for the lake together, and more!

Keep up with us on our website, and on social media, to see what our team is up to, and how you can get involved, this summer!

Amanda Koot, Environmental Program Coordinator

My name is Amanda, and I am happy to be back as an Environmental Program Coordinator for the Pigeon Lake Watershed Association! I did an internship with PLWA during the summer of 2022, and I enjoyed it so much I came back to work for another summer! I am finishing up my studies at The King’s University, where I am completing my B.Sc. Environmental Studies with a concentration in Biology. I have always loved being in nature so in my free time I enjoy hiking, camping, and spending time by the water. I am excited to do my part in helping to care for Pigeon Lake this summer!

Andrea McRae, Environmental Program Coordinator

Hey! My name is Andrea and I am excited to spend this summer at the lake with you. My family has a cabin at Vasa Park, so I’m already familiar with how great Pigeon Lake and its samaritans are. I graduated from the U of A with a B.Sc. in Biology last winter, and have a special interest in environmental sciences. I’m passionate about the conservation, protection and preservation of the lake so we can continue to enjoy it for years to come. I love all things gardening and spend much of my free time outdoors skiing, cycling and hiking.
