Award of Planning Merit
Pigeon Lake Watershed Management Plan wins the Alberta Professional Planners Institute (APPI) Award of Planning Merit. Nominated by Municipal Planning Services and CCP Environmental, the APPI awards acknowledge meritorious plans and projects, undertaken in whole or in part by members of the Institute, that significantly contribute to the livability of communities in Alberta.

Pigeon Lake Watershed Management Plan: Caring for the Lake together
The APPI Award of Planning Merit is the second award for the Plan in 2021. In April, the Plan received an Emerald Award in the water category from the Alberta Emerald Foundation.
About the Plan
The Pigeon Lake Watershed Management Plan is a comprehensive, science-based strategy to coordinate action for the protection and improvement of Pigeon Lake, its shore lands and its watershed.
Working Together for a Healthy Watershed, Healthy Lake and Healthy Community
The Plan calls for individuals and businesses in the watershed to seek out information about beneficial practices, assess their properties and operations, make beneficial changes, encourage others and councils to make appropriate changes, and support the Pigeon Lake Watershed Association.
