Lake Observers Just Got Easier!
There is now an app for submitting information included in our Lake Observers program. This app collects information about water quality, weather, ice, invasive species, and Secchi dip-ins all across North America! This data is accessible to the public through the Lake Observers Website, along with additional information about the North American Lake Management Society’s Lake Observer programs through the NALMS online public portal (instructional video found on NALMS website).
To use the app you will have to create an account using your email address, and from here you can save the waterbody as “pigeon lake, AB, CAN”. This app makes submitting observations from the program much easier as things such as time, date and GSP location can automatically fill in for you. The app also has some different categories than our program previously had, this does not mean that every category has to be filled out, just provide the information you have gathered and observed into the app whenever you can!
Consider downloading the app and volunteering some time to monitoring our lake, submissions are welcome all year round! And if you prefer we still do have pdf/paper copies of the observations, which have been adapted to fit the new categories of the app.
